Shaping the work force in SWLA for good.

The Industrial Construction wave arriving in SWLA creates a once in a lifetime opportunity for seasons of full employment with high wages and plentiful hours. While the employment focus is on skilled workers, there will also be a large need for unskilled workers in the area.

People are dropping out of society, often lacking the hope to see they can take control of their future and realize available opportunities. This creates cycles of poverty and dependency in our community. Our plan is to identify young at risk men and build life skills via mentoring, training and ongoing support for successful entry into unskilled, laborer and helper jobs at the industrial construction projects coming to SWLA. We plan to utilize the huge volunteer capacity of churches to provide support with vastly lower cost. Read more about our plans below.

Jobs. Jobs solve a multitude of societal problems. They do so without bureaucratic mazes and the taxes they require. We propose reaching into parts of our community and helping people get a job as unskilled workers on an industrial construction site. The better hours and wages available during this season of construction are like accelerates, making the incentives for work strong and the rewards for it immediately transformative - meaning a young man could earn enough to buy a working car he likes in 1-2 months, not years.

Our Plan is to identify young men who are un-or-under-employed, give them tangible examples of hope and how future can be so much different, prepare them for success as an unskilled helper, then directly support their launch into this work. We will be building life skills via mentoring, training and ongoing support for successful entry into unskilled, laborer or helper jobs at the industrial construction projects. We will utilize the huge volunteer capacity of churches in our community to provide support with vastly lower costs. (More about the plan in What We Do)
